Throwback Thursday
I don't know if you've noticed, but the light changes this time of year, especially in the afternoon. I first started noticing this as a child when I would get home from school. And for some reason, no matter what city or state I've lived in, I've only notice this in the fall.
Perhaps it's the change in the Earth's tilt and the associated change of seasons. Perhaps it's the days growing shorter as the evening sunset intrudes into the afternoon. Or perhaps, it's all in my head. Either way, it doesn't matter. I love the afternoon this time of year and the season associated with it.
I love this picture. First, it reminds me of the afternoon light in the fall. But more than that, it's a reminder of how times have changed. I love history and Chicago is full of history confronting you at every turn in the sidewalk. The internet has dramatically changed how we share the written word with others. At a push of a button, this entry will be shared with the world. But signs like this remind us how far mass communication has come and where we can go.
